Another Birthday Weekend

After 3 weeks of continuous birthday celebrating and way too much cake, cupcakes and ice cream sandwiches I am beginning to get a little worn out. This past weekend we had another birthday party. This time Luke's family came up to celebrate with us and this time we had a birthday cake with ice cream.

I am starting to worry that Maddox is going to expect weekly parties for the rest of his life.

I had a little cake drama with this one. It was my first time making a 4 layer cake and my first time making this type of icing. It was supposed to look like this...

cute..right? Well mine ended up looking like this...

not so cute. I'm not sure what happened but my icing never set up like it was supposed to but even though it was onw fugly butt cake...

it still tasted good and I think everyone enjoyed it. I know at least one small person did!

Maddox got to go fishing on Saturday too and caught a fish in about 5 minutes. He loves to go fishing!

On Sunday the boys went for a drive to see the lake.

It was another busy but good weekend and Maddox had a good time seeing his Grandma and Grandpa and his uncles.

Now I'm ready to just relax and hang out for the next 3 weeks until it's time to start all over again for Bella Mae's 1st birthday.

The Actual BirthDAY

I'm a little late getting my sweet boy's birthday post up but since we celebrate birthday months around here I think he'll forgive me. He only had one request on his actual birthday. He wanted ice cream sandwiches for dessert.

Maddox and I made some cookies for the ice cream sandwiches and Bella Mae cleaned up our mess.

He was so excited to try an ice cream sandwich. He's been asking for one ever since he saw them on Blue's Clues.

He loved every bite! I am so thankful for you, my sweet boy!

I love that you are my little sensie.

I love your unique sense of style.

I love that you take care of, protect and love your baby sister.

I love that you made me a mommy! I LOVE YOU!! You fill every day with joy.

Happy Birthday!!!

Sweet Baby Meat's Birthday Weekend:Part 3

On Sunday we decided that we should have a campfire and make s'mores. Sweet Baby Meat had never had s'mores and I couldn't even remember the last time I had, so after some lunch of leftover birthday party eats...

we piddled around until it got cool enough to sit remotely close to a fire.

After the fire was ready it was time to get to toasting some marshmallows.

Sweet Baby Meat LOVED them! And of course he did..what 3 year old wouldn't love a s'more. I had forgotten how good they were too.

We actually used some extra chocolate icing leftover from our birthday cupcakes which was delish! I'm not big on having a huge chunk of chocolate on my s'more because I like it to be all melty and gooey and I can never get a candy bar to do that. But these were definately melty and gooey!

The Princess wanted a s'more too.

Luckily she is easily distracted.

Unlike someone else. His entire world revolved around marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers that night.

But who wouldn't want to live in a s'more world..right!

I know I would! And I'm pretty sure I could get my Sweet Baby Meat to come with me! That's my boy!

Sweet Baby Meat's Birthday Weekend:Part 2

Saturday was the BIG day! Sweet Baby Meat had been looking forward to it ever since I had asked him what kind of party he wanted about two months ago and he said "TOY STORY!!! And I want balloons with strings on them!" Easy enough. We started the day with donuts, a tradition that Papi started last year. Those two LOVE donuts!

Papi goes and gets a whole box before Sweet Baby Meat wakes up and then he gets to choose whichever one he wants for breakfast. He loves this and takes this very seriously.

After all it is some serious business when it comes to the big decisions in life. Ahhh..to be 3 again.

He chose the one that he said was a "choke cherry" donut. Alright.

Oh, how he enjoyed his "chokecherry" donut that was the size of his head (seriously, look at it, it is the size of his head!).

Next it was Papi's turn to choose a donut. I seriously think he was more excited than Sweet Baby Meat. Poor, deprived, Papi.

The Princess was sharing in all the excitement too. But she was more excited about the shorts on her head than the donuts. This girl LOVES to wear things on her head! And thanks to Auntie Schnoopie she got anything she wanted. Even if it was wearing shorts on her head all weekend. What my baby wants, my baby gets.

After some errands for a few last minute party items it was back home to eat sprinkles decorate birthday cupcakes.

This is also some very serious business. Look at that intensity!

The finished product.

After some real food (all of the Birthday Boy's favorites of course)..

it was time for cupcakes and ice cream.

And presents...

and back to cupcakes and ice cream.

The Princess got an early birthday present...

that she shared...

and Sweet Baby Meat got a lot of new friends and had a ton of fun at his party. He said "This is my favorite day! This is the best birthday ever!!" So I would say it was a success.

Sweet Baby Meat's Birthday Weekend:Part 1

A week and a half ago my sister and niece came to visit! We were so glad to see them. It was very exciting and Sweet Baby Meat was even marking off the days on the calendar until they got here. When they did finally get here we took a trip up to Glacier...

Me and my sister..Schnoopie Woopie.

Sweet Baby Meat, Schnoopie Woopie, and Kristine.

A close up of Sweet Baby Meat's new "smile" for the camera.

This backpack was actually for The Princess' riding pleasure but Sweet Baby Meat insisted on breaking it in for her.

I have never met a kid that loves rocks as much as Sweet Baby Meat..

oh wait, except for this one!

Glacier is gorgeous. I couldn't resist putting some pics of it in even though they won't do it justice.

View on the ride up.

Bighorn Sheep

Snow in July!! That's all for now. I will post the rest of the weekend soon!
